On-Campus Connections for Veteran Students
Veteran students at the University of New Haven benefit from many connections on campus, including a dedicated veteran student group.
Military Veterans of the University of New Haven
This student group was formed to both support current University of New Haven veteran students and encourage a “veteran friendly” campus to attract new veteran students. Their purpose is to create a community of veterans who will use their knowledge and experiences to educate the university community and advocate on behalf of student veterans.
Veteran Success Center
The Veteran Success Center is open and available for all student veterans on campus.
The newly renovated and furnished center is located in Maxcy Hall SP2 and serves as common place for students to study, gather for club meetings and relax. There are four computers with access to printing, a microwave and refrigerator available to student veterans to use during breaks between classes. The Veteran Success Center is a great place to meet fellow veterans and find out about veteran programming on campus and within the community.

WHY CHOOSE THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN
The Yellow Ribbon GI Educational Enhancement program allows institutions of higher learning in the United States to enter voluntarily into an agreement with the VA to fund tuition and fee expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The institution can contribute a specified dollar amount of those expenses and the VA will match the same amount as the institution (not to exceed 50% of the difference).
Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership(VITAL)
The University of New Haven is a proud partner of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System located in West Haven, CT. VITAL is a VA initiative aimed to support student veterans on campus in their successful transition to academia and in completion of their educational goals.
The University of New Haven has dedicated staff to help Veterans transition from military life to a collegiate life. This includes counseling, finance, and registration, as well as peer to peer counseling Military Veterans Club that is active on campus, out in town, and Social Media.
